Canvas Painting Class for secondary schools provides a sequential, logical, and comprehensive approach that will help secondary students to acquire a range of practical technical skills to progress from intermediate to advanced levels under the proper guidance. Students will get to use a variety of brushes as they learn different brush strokes and master the art of mixing and layering colors using acrylic or oil paints. At the advanced level, students will pay more attention to their practices away from the canvas, including making preparatory sketches, employing color studies, managing their palette, and approaching their subject matter. Students will be required to look at historical and contemporary painters' work during the course to gain heightened critical awareness. They will be encouraged to utilize the techniques of other artists in their work and will be required to develop a contextual, understanding of artists, styles, and movements.
